Wanting to attend the project geoXantike geocaching event, but haven’t yet found a place to stay? Although Xanten itself offers some guest accommodation, we’re aware that there may not be sufficient rooms available for all interested parties. In order to help you search for other local places to stay, we’ve created the map opposite. This will help you work out in five km increments how far away other local facilities are from the LVR Archaeological Park. If needed you can open the map in a new window.
Please also bear in mind that Xanten isn’t Munich. The city of Munich, being a city of conventions and trade fairs, simply offers a much larger area for hotels and other accommodation. If you were to imagine Munich as a beer mat with a bottle cap at its centre, the size of Xanten is roughly equivalent to the bottle cap, if not even smaller. Therefore, if you were to travel within the 25km radius marked on the map, you’ll be sure find a fairly local place to stay. Xanten is well connected by public transport. The APX has a large free car park.
Below we’ve listed some interesting places for the camping and caravanning friends amongst you. We’re also planning to provide a shuttle service to the LVR Archaeological Park in Xanten from these locations.
